The TDK Group has recently launched the **CeraLink™** series of capacitor expansion products based on **PLZT (lead-doped zirconium titanate)** technology. This low-profile (LP type) surface-mount capacitor is now available in two standard sizes: **500V/1μF** and **700V/0.5μF**, offering a compact design that significantly reduces space requirements.
For instance, the L-shaped terminal version measures just **10.84mm x 7.85mm x 4mm**, making it ideal for high-density applications. Its small size, combined with a maximum operating temperature of up to **150°C**, allows the capacitor to be directly embedded into **IGBT modules** as an absorbing capacitor, improving system efficiency and reliability.
The new J-type terminal version is even more compact, with dimensions of **7.14mm x 7.85mm x 4mm**. One of the key advantages of the **CeraLink LP series** is its extremely low equivalent series inductance (ESL), which can be as low as **2.5nH**, ensuring minimal signal distortion and improved performance in high-speed switching circuits.
In addition, the **CeraLink Solder Foot Capacitors (SP)** offer higher capacitance values, reaching up to **20μF** for 500V-rated products and **10μF** for 700V-rated ones. These capacitors also feature an ESL as low as **3.5nH**, making them well-suited for advanced power electronics applications.
With their **low parasitic effects**, CeraLink capacitors are particularly well-suited for use in **fast-switching converter topologies** that employ **GaN** or **SiC** semiconductors. Compared to traditional capacitor technologies, they exhibit **minimal voltage overshoot** and **transient oscillation**, enhancing overall system stability and performance.
These capacitors are especially beneficial for applications requiring **small size**, **high current capacity**, and **excellent thermal resistance**. They are designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern power systems and are ideal for engineers looking to optimize both performance and space utilization.
