The TDK Group has recently launched the **CeraLink™** series of capacitor expansion products based on **PLZT (lead-doped zirconium titanate)**. This low-profile (LP type) surface-mount capacitor is now available in two standard sizes: **500V/1μF** and **700V/0.5μF**, offering significant size reduction and compact design.
For instance, the L-shaped terminal version measures just **10.84mm x 7.85mm x 4mm**, making it ideal for space-constrained applications. Its compact structure and ability to withstand temperatures up to **150°C** allow it to be directly embedded into **IGBT modules** as an absorbing capacitor.
The new J-type terminal version is even more compact, with dimensions of **7.14mm x 7.85mm x 4mm**. One of its key advantages is the extremely low **equivalent series inductance (ESL)**, which can be as low as **2.5nH**.
The **CeraLink Solder Foot Capacitors (SP)** are designed for higher capacitance values, offering up to **20μF** at 500V and **10μF** at 700V. These capacitors also feature a very low ESL of **3.5nH**, ensuring excellent performance in high-frequency applications.
CeraLink capacitors are known for their **low parasitics**, making them an ideal choice for converter topologies that use fast-switching semiconductors like **GaN** or **SiC**. Compared to traditional capacitor technologies, they significantly reduce **voltage overshoot** and **transient oscillations**, improving system reliability and efficiency.
