Display "evolution" LED display and LCD display LED refers to Light Emitting Diode (LED), and we refer to this LED as a liquid crystal display using a light emitting diode as a light source.

LCD refers to Liquid Crystal Display, which uses a CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) as a light source. They use different backlights.

The main differences between LED display and LCD display are as follows:

1. LED display is thinner.

The LED backlight is composed of a number of grid-like semiconductors, each of which has an LED semiconductor, so that the LED backlight successfully realizes the planarization of the light source. The planarized light source not only has excellent brightness uniformity, but also does not require a complicated light path design, so that the thickness of the LCD can be made thinner, and it also has higher reliability and stability. The thickness of the LED screen notebook panel is about 1/2 the thickness of the ordinary CCFL screen pen.

2. The LED is more power-efficient and has data indicating that it is 48% less power than the commonly used CCFL LCD screen. The traditional LCD lamp needs to increase the power supply voltage to 530V to allow the lamp to work properly. With the LED technology screen, as long as the voltage of 40V can work normally, the power utilization rate is higher.

3. Longer life of LED Usually, the life span of the LED is 100,000 hours, which can be 27 years in 10 hours. Ordinary LCD is about 40,000 hours.

4.LED has a wider color gamut. NTSC is the National Television Standards Committee (National Television Standards Committee). It sets the color gamut that can be displayed by a color monitor to be NTSC 100%, and ordinary flat-panel display CRTs can achieve this level. The LCD can reach about 78%, but the LED backlight can easily get more than 100% NTSC color area.

5.LED because the spectrum is almost all concentrated in the visible light frequency, there is no ultraviolet and infrared, so no heat, no radiation, is a typical green light source, under strong light can also be taken care of, and can work at minus 40 degrees low temperature.

6. The higher contrast LED backlight system can further enhance the uniformity of light emission compared with the traditional CCFL fluorescent backlight. With LED support for multi-point control, the display contrast can be significantly improved. At present, the LED display achieves a contrast of 1 million:1.

So LED display is better than LCD display.
