OTT and Pay-TV output have a huge potential of 283 billion U.S. dollars

According to the "OTT and Pay TV Forecasting" report, by 2022, pay-television revenue (subscription and PPV) and OTT revenue (AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, and DTO) will reach 283 billion U.S. dollars, including 138 countries and regions. The US$239 billion in the year increased by 18%. OTT's contribution to total revenue will increase from 15% in 2016 to 29% in 2022. During this period, its income will more than double. OTT revenue will account for 42% of total pay-TV revenue by 2022, up 26% from 2016. Pay-TV revenue will decline during the same period, but the decline is very low. By 2022, SVOD subscriptions will reach half of the total pay TV revenue, up by 23% from 2016. SVOD subscriptions will increase 10 times in 2010-2016 and will double by 2022 to reach US$564 million. Pay TV did not die. By 2022, the number of subscribers reached more than 1 billion. North America will lose subscribers, while Europe will remain stable. However, 2016-2022 will add 92 million subscribers in the Asia Pacific region. China will add 40 million subscribers to a total of 353 million households. India will add 30 million subscribers to a total of 179 million households. By 2022, China and India will account for half of the global pay-TV subscriptions.
