A few days ago, I came across an article about the Das Keyboard 4, which is actually the sixth generation of the series. Interestingly, some articles mistakenly refer to it as the fourth generation due to the "4" in its name, but that number doesn’t signify the fourth generation; it’s just part of the model name.
The Das Keyboard 4 with the large knob is truly iconic. Its design has become quite legendary. On the other hand, the Das Keyboard Model S, which is technically the fourth generation, differs fundamentally from the sixth-generation Das Keyboard 4. If you’re interested in experiencing both, you should definitely try them out.
The packaging is straightforward, with the product image printed on the front of the white box. There aren’t many flashy designs on the sides.
The back provides a detailed product description, though I must admit, I struggled a bit with the English explanations!
Inside the box, you’ll find the keyboard, an adapter, a manual, and a cleaning cloth.
From the front, the Das Keyboard Model S looks very similar to the Das Keyboard 4, except that the latter lacks the multimedia buttons and large knob found in the upper right corner of the Model S.
The mirror finish is visually appealing, but it does tend to show fingerprints easily. That’s why the product includes a cleaning cloth.
One notable difference between the two models is the HUB design. While the Model S features this design, the Das Keyboard 4 uses a USB 3.0 interface, whereas the Model S uses USB 2.0.
Connecting two RGB peripherals via the HUB is smooth and stable, without worrying about insufficient power since the data cable powers the HUB.
The back of the Das Keyboard 4 is distinct from the Model S. While the Model S has a boxy design with a magnetic ruler added later, the Das Keyboard 4 features a more streamlined, foothold-like design. The anti-slip effect is excellent, ensuring the keyboard stays steady on any surface.
The height of the feet on the Das Keyboard 4 is significantly improved, providing a sturdy stand without any wobbling.
Let’s take a closer look at the upper right side.
The keycaps on the Das Keyboard 4 are similar to those on the Model S, except that the former has multimedia key patterns, and the characters in the F area are arranged slightly differently.
Now, let’s focus on the new Green Axis being used in the Das Keyboard 4. I won’t go into too much detail, but I must say it’s quite impressive.
Why is this blue axis so significant? The larger key design really speaks volumes. In fact, I’m curious why Das Keyboard decided to move the large key positioning to the satellite axis after this model, while still retaining the spacebar's satellite axis. The spacebar is the most crucial key in terms of usage frequency. Normal typing relies heavily on the spacebar for word confirmation, making it more frequently used than other large keys. During my personal keyboard training, I’ve noticed that the longest spacebar requires more effort to ensure proper rebound compared to other keys. Therefore, the auxiliary satellite shaft or balance bar plays a vital role in maintaining the overall feel.
The balance bar is a fantastic feature. It’s a blessing for tactile switch enthusiasts, as it avoids the bulkiness of a satellite shaft. So why do some manufacturers opt for easier-to-use blue-axis balance bars and satellite shafts? This boils down to how manufacturers fine-tune their products.
Overall, I’m quite satisfied with the Das Keyboard Model S.
To wrap up, here’s the price information: Das Keyboard Model S starts at 1050 yuan, with a discount price of 949 yuan. Using additional coupons brought my final price down to 899 yuan.

Battery Connection Cable
A battery connection cable are the type of wire used to connect a battery to an electronic device. The are usually made of conductive material, such as copper or aluminum, and has a pair of connectors that connect one end to the positive end of the battery and the other end to the negative end of the battery.
The main function of the battery connection cable are to transmit current and electrical energy. They direct the current from the positive end of the battery through the positive connector, and then transmits it to the electronic device through the cable. At the same time, the negative connector directs the current from the electronic device back to the negative end of the battery, forming a circuit closure.
Battery connection cables are usually of a certain length and flexibility in order to provide a flexible connection between the electronic device and the battery. It may also have a protective housing to protect the cable from damage or wear.
When choosing a battery connection cable, you need to consider factors such as current transmission requirements, battery and device connector types, and cable length and material. Proper selection and use of battery connection cables can ensure a reliable connection and power transfer between the battery and the device.
