Edison Optoelectronics introduces four LED street light modules
The application of LED street lamps has gradually become a global trend. It is estimated that the number of LED street lamp installations in the world in 2010 is about 870,000. In response to the government's green energy industry plan, Edison Optoelectronics launched four LED street light modules this year following the launch of the streetlight module program in 2009. The new street light modules are mainly divided into the Edixeon series and the Federal series. The 27-watt Federal Street Light Module consists of 24 high-power Federals with a total output lumen of 2,160 lm. At the same time, the Edixeon series also introduced 3 different angles of 12-watt street light module, which can reach the color temperature of 6000K and pass the IP67 waterproof level test.
Driven by the support of national policies and the market, Taiwan has introduced the CNS 15233 specification for LED streetlight standards, and has strict requirements for road width, lamp height, color temperature, average illumination and uniformity. In addition, for the new streetlight module, Edison Optoelectronics uses the optical design of the LED package lens to reduce optical losses, and its light extraction efficiency is 90%. And the use of multiple aspherical surface design makes the output light pattern asymmetrical to be close to and meet the needs of road lighting. The output of the asymmetric light type can be matched with the light pole design and can balance the uniformity of the road illumination distribution with the direct glare to the human eye, which can improve the projection efficiency of the light on the road surface. This lens technology can be applied to LED street lights or various traffic trunk lighting and other asymmetric lighting area applications.
Looking at the 2011 replacement of 1.3 million street lamps and the ten-city plan in mainland China, the government has shown the development trend of LEDs for street lighting applications.
