In 2010, 26% of LED chips came from Taiwan

According to data from the Tektronix Institute of Industry (TRI), in 2010, Taiwan's LED chip production will account for 26% of global LED chip production, which is expected to increase by 37% from 2009's 9.6 billion. LED chip makers in Taiwan are expected to grow at a 43% rate, reaching $2.5 billion.

According to TRI, in 2014, LED-backlit LCD TVs will capture 20.3% of the global LCD TV market share, and all LCD TVs will use LED backlights.
