Avago LEDs support European vertical information logo specifications

On June 22, 2010, Avago Technologies announced the launch of a new 5mm ultra-high-brightness LED lamp that supports the European variable traffic sign standard EN12966-1. Their applications in road equipment and signs include: traffic/pedestrian lights, work area warning lights, variable information signs, solar powered signs, billboards, marquees and other commercial outdoor advertising.

The new LED products are HLMP-Ex1A/1B-xxxDV (viewing angle 15 o) and HLMP-Ex3A/3B-xxxDV (viewing angle 30 o), and the minimum illumination intensity of these 5mm ultra-high brightness LEDs is 12,000mcd (15 o ) And 5,500mcd (30 o), available in red and yellow colors.

The visual requirements of the logo set the viewing angle specifications of the LED, such as a high-brightness LED that requires a narrow beam width for a sign mounted on a highway, and a wide beam LED product where a shorter distance visual clarity is required in an urban area.

Furthermore, outdoor signage often requires more than a decade of working life in harsh, corrosive exposed work environments. Avago's LED lights are designed for outdoor signage and signal applications with a maximum junction temperature of 130 o C. Allows high temperature operation in bright sunlight, and the exterior of these lamps is UV-resistant with UV-resistant epoxy to reduce the effects of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

At present, the new 15 o and 30 o viewing angle LED products have been officially mass-produced and can be supplied in batches.
