Global solid-state lighting manufacturing industry will be centered in Taiwan
Taiwan Industrial Bureau recently said that Taiwan will be expected to become a global solid-state lighting manufacturing center.
The Industrial Bureau believes that LED luminous efficiency is rapidly increasing. For example, Jingyuan Optoelectronics, the world's largest LED chip and chip manufacturer, has a complete full-color product line with a 50% market share and is one of the leading manufacturers of high-brightness blue LEDs. The luminous efficiency of high-power LEDs produced by Jingdian has exceeded 120 lm/W, which has led to the rapid growth of special lighting applications such as commercial lighting and street lamps. The high-power LEDs in the laboratory have luminous efficiencies of more than 160 lm/W. External research institutions will strengthen cooperation, and the application of general lighting will also be launched ahead of 2012. By 2020, the annual output value of solid-state lighting will reach 100 billion US dollars.
Based on the above analysis, the Industrial Bureau believes that Taiwan should be conditionally developed into a global solid-state lighting manufacturing center.
