Since the current price of LED lamps is about three times that of incandescent lamps, the promotion speed of LED lamps is difficult to speed up unless there is government subsidy. This is an example in Europe and the United States, because of the obstruction of traditional lighting manufacturers, even the promotion of LED street lamps. Not as good as Japan and China.

The mainland government is supporting the LED lighting industry

Following the launch of the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Miles” project invested by local governments in 2009, in 2010, three central ministries and commissions launched the 3913 standard. In the first half of this year, it is expected to launch the “National Energy Saving Lighting Industry Recommended Catalogue”. By then, the official public procurement standards of the mainland will be fully established, and foreign companies with technology and capital will also invade because of "there is a law to rely on."

Due to the successful promotion of “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Cities”, mainland China has become the main developing country of LED lighting standards, directly affecting the future development direction of global LED lighting.

According to a survey by the US high-tech market regulator StrategiesUnlimited, although lighting accounts for only 9% of LED applications, it is the main growth point in LED applications since the global recession in 2008 (another growth point is the backlight of LED-TV). ), the compound annual growth rate from 2008 to 2012 will reach 28%, and the global LED lighting in 2010 will have a production value of 5 billion US dollars.

The development of the lighting industry in Taiwan LED factory currently has two internal and external favorable factors.

Since 2009, the US and Japan LED raw materials manufacturers have continued to reduce the price. Originally, the US and Japan raw materials were 3 to 50% more expensive than the Taiwanese raw materials, and now they are almost the same as Taiwanese raw materials.

The internal favorable factors are: from Christmas lighting to outdoor electronic billboards, to mobile phone display and display backlight module, Taiwan LED factory generally accumulates 20 to 30 years of experience, and the global market share of LED packaging exceeds 20%, only second In Japan. This "quantity" advantage in LED packaging provides Taiwanese companies with the ability to make wafers and downlights, which is an advantage that mainland counterparts do not have.
