Fairchild Semiconductor Establishes Design Center in Pune, India
Fairchild Semiconductor, a leading global provider of performance-enhancing high-performance products, has established a design center in Pune, India. The R&D center will be responsible for the design and development of the company's next-generation power MOSFETs and IGBT technology, supporting popular applications such as solar inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, voltage regulators (UPS), automotive, lighting and ballasts.
The Indian R&D center employs professional electronics engineers who have extensive design experience and are well versed in the requirements for power design, especially low voltage power design. Fairchild chose Pune in India because it is close to several excellent institutions and educational institutions that focus on engineering technology, and is also home to different research institutions, complementing local higher education. In addition, Pune is also very strong in the field of automobile manufacturing.
