Zhou is an overseas Chinese in Canada. At the age of 11, he immigrated to Canada with his parents. He has been studying in Canada until he graduated from university. After graduating, he went to work in Boston, USA, first worked, then started business on MIT campus for 4 years until June 2014. The Hangzhou government’s talent introduction program returned to China. Prior to this venture, Zhou Zhou was an angel investor in the VR industry. The investment cases included Heatwave Technology and Display Network. He hopes that this venture will be able to be in a market with a large market, cutting-edge technology, and a consumer market. Zhou Zhou believes that the development of VR/AR will gradually become the platform of the next-generation computing center in 10 years, and the first product series of LONG VR is to make it affordable for every mobile phone user. How did you do it?
“We analyzed four factors that could lead to user dizziness, hardware lenses, software presentation methods, content, and mobile phone performance. In addition to the uncontrollable performance of mobile phones, such as CPU or gyroscope refresh rate is not the same for each type of mobile phone The other three points are controllable."
Zhou Zhou said: "The first one we chose not to do a full immersive software interface, many low-end machines, the gyro refresh rate can not keep up, which leads to delays caused by the use of head control to cause dizziness At the same time, the screen will appear drifting, users will be less efficient when interacting, and the eyes will be more fatigued, which will make people feel dizzy. Another reason why not to do immersive interactive interface is because of the technical need to use Unity. The software is equivalent to running a VR game in a mobile phone, which is very costly for the CPU. The phone will be hot for about 5 minutes. The delay of the mobile phone with gradually worse performance will increase, and the vertigo will increase. APP package The size also increased from 10 trillion to more than 60 trillion. When homogenized products are selected to pursue immersion, it means that the audience they face must be high-end mobile phone users, and the audience facing our software products. In terms of content, LONG VR's operating team also conducted some screening, and some of the screen switching speed is filtered out. Zhou Zhou said: "At present, LONG VR S2 this product has received more than 3,000 user evaluation feedback, only a few users because it is deep myopia caused eye fatigue caused slightly faint, all users within 400 degrees of myopia that the product does not faint, And compared to other homogenized products, the phone will not be hot after half an hour.â€
As for what can be improved in the product experience, Zhou said: “In the future, our products will consider adding anti-blue lenses; increasing handle interaction; supporting users to watch with glasses.â€
