Support for dual cameras and TruSignal technology have expanded from Xiaolong 800 Series to Xiaolong 600 Series and 400 Series. To further enhance the consumer experience and help ODM manufacturers to launch customized products in a timely manner.

Xiaolong 400 and Xiaolong 600 series are the main products in the popular market and mid-range market, and many terminals are built based on it, such as Red Rice 3s, Samsung C7, HTC 10 LifeStyle and so on. It is reported that in the past 12 months, there are more than 400 models of OEM terminals based on the Xiaolong 600 series chipset, of which more than 300 have been released and more than 100 models are currently under development. The Xiaolong 653, Xiaolong 626 and Xiaolong 427 processors released this time have improved in many aspects. The following is a brief introduction.

Dragon 653

Xiaolong 653 and Xiaolong 650, Xiaolong 652 belong to the same series, using 28nm HPM process to build. Compared to the Xiaolong 652, the CPU performance is improved by 10%, and the X9 LTE modem is upgraded to reach the CAT 7 level. Both 2x and 20 MHz carrier aggregation can be implemented on the downlink and upstream, achieving downlink 300 Mbps and uplink 150 Mbps. The connectivity is further enhanced. Added support for dual cameras and also doubled addressable memory (RAM) from 4GB to 8GB, supporting up to QHD resolution. In addition, Xiaolong 653 is compatible with Xiaolong 650/652 pins and software, which allows ODM manufacturers to quickly launch the corresponding products. It is expected that there will be corresponding products in Q4 this year, and the pricing range will be around US$300, which will be approximately RMB 2,000.

Dragon 626

The Snapdragon 626 is an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 625. It is built on a 14nm process, and its performance is improved by 10% compared to its predecessor. The X9 LTE modem is also used. It is worth mentioning that Snapdragon 626 also supports TruSignal antenna enhancement technology. Improved signal reception in a crowded network environment. Also added support for dual cameras, up to FHD resolution. Similarly, Snapdragon 626 is compatible with Snapdragon 625 pins and software. It is expected that there will be corresponding products in Q4 this year, and the pricing range will be around 150-250 US dollars, mainly in the mid-market.

Dragon 427

Compared to the Snapdragon 425, the Snapdragon 427 uses an 8-core design, has higher CPU and GPU performance, uses the X9 LTE modem, and introduces TruSignal technology to the Snapdragon 400 series processor for the first time, resulting in more powerful connectivity. , Added Quick Charge 3.0 technology support, support for dual cameras. In addition, Snapdragon 427 is compatible with Snapdragon 425/430/435 pins and software, and is compatible with Snapdragon 625 and 626 software. It is expected that there will be corresponding products in Q1 2017, with a price range of around US$100, and a dominant market.

It is worth mentioning that, for the new processor, Qualcomm also has a complete and diverse combination of radio frequency, antenna, audio, NFC, etc., which simplifies the development cost of ODM manufacturers and introduces the corresponding products faster.
