At the regular release meeting of the Ministry of Commerce on August 3, the Ministry of Commerce issued the "Consumer's Index of China's Convenience Stores Index" in the second quarter of 2017. When referring to the recent unmanned convenience store, the report pointed out that this new technology application and operation idea has played a positive role in promoting the sustainable development of the convenience store industry.

According to the "Report", the overall prosperity index of convenience stores in the second quarter of 2017 was 73.95, which was higher than the 23.95 for the Ronghe Line, which was 1.7 points higher than the first quarter. This shows that the practitioners still maintain strong confidence in the development of convenience stores. Among them, the industry prosperity index was 82.5, which was higher than the 32.5 for the Ronghe Line, which was 1.4 higher than the first quarter. The store's prosperity index was 68.3, which was 18.3 higher than the Ronghe Line and 2.0 for the first quarter. It shows that the confidence of convenience store industry managers and grassroots store operators has increased to varying degrees.

The "Report" shows that convenience store industry managers maintain a high confidence index on sales growth in the industry, sales growth of their own companies, store growth, number of employees, main business profits, and business environment. The company's sales growth confidence index was 96.2, which was higher than the 43.6 line on the Yurong line. It remained the highest among all sub-indicators, reflecting the confidence in the steady development of its own business this year. Store operators generally maintain a high level of confidence in store sales growth, customer numbers, product categories, service items, operating profit, etc.; however, they are still more concerned about store rental, utilities, and labor costs.

According to the "Report," no one convenience store has become another outlet after sharing bicycles, and various capitals have begun to pay attention and invest in the development of unmanned convenience stores. Although the operation ideas, technical options, and business plans of various capital investment convenience stores are different, the general direction is to upgrade the traditional offline convenience stores to those that require artificial duty to reduce labor costs. This new technology application and operation idea has played a positive role in promoting the sustainable development of the convenience store industry.

In general, based on the overall steady growth in 2016, coupled with capital investment and the rise of no convenience stores, convenience store practitioners are still optimistic about the development prospects, and their confidence is steadily rising.
