Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to it at first, but I was unexpectedly rated as an excellent member. I’m really grateful to the friends on the forum. I’m a bit lazy and not very fast when typing, so I often don’t post much. But today, I decided to share something that many people are interested in — a lamp bead replacement guide. I’ll try to explain my experience step by step.
I started by opening the screen directly without going into too much detail about the maintenance process. The small screen had three light bars inside, connected in parallel. I used my own lamp beads to test them. One of them lit up, while the other two were dim or completely off. Using a multimeter on the 10K setting, I found one was shorted, and two were open. Each light bar had one faulty lamp bead. I checked online and found that a 1W 3528 LED bead from Taobao looked similar, so I decided to replace them.
Next, I tested the temperature of the new lamp beads. They heated up slightly, which was better than using a heat gun. I cleaned the solder points, added some flux, and used a hot air station to reflow the solder. I made sure the temperature wasn’t too high to avoid damaging anything. After heating, the beads moved a little, indicating the solder had melted properly. Then I used a fan to cool them down.
I repeated this process for all three lamp beads. Once done, I tested the lighting again and everything worked perfectly. The screen was installed back, connected to the signal, and everything functioned well. The color temperature was a bit warmer than the original, and there was no white light like before — that’s just how it is.
The drive board’s standard current was 840mA, but I measured 900mA in reality. Each light bar drew around 300mA, and the new lamp beads were rated for 400mA, so they were suitable. I left it running for a while, and everything still worked fine. It was a successful repair!
Here's the schematic diagram of the repair. Keep in mind that this is my personal method — if you try it, be careful with replacements. Just a friendly reminder: fake parts can cause problems, so choose wisely. 😊
