Socionext and Varjo collaborate to develop the world's first human-eye resolution VR/XR head display
Socionext Inc., a leader in advanced visual imaging SoC application technology ("Sox Technology" or "Company") announced that it is working with the Finnish technology company Varjo to develop a new generation of VR/XR (Extended Reality) solutions. Varjo's latest models combine the "human-eye resoluTIon" technology with the "Milbeaut®" image processing technology to achieve breakthroughs in key technologies.
The VR/XR headshow developed by Varjo is equipped with an ultra-high resolution screen of 70 megapixels, and the field of view can be extended to 100 degrees, far exceeding the first generation of VR head-mounted products. Varjo uses its strengths and combines multiple technologies to create a “bionic display†that delivers unparalleled high-definition image detail in a limited area. In fact, the human eye only has a very high sensitivity in the central region of about 2 degrees of the field of view, and the peripheral vision is relatively poor. This product mimics the working principle of human vision, combines the real world and extended content, and develops a VST (Video Transmissive Display) type VR/XR head display that is close to the human eye resolution.
