LED display is a new type of information dissemination media that has developed rapidly in the world in the late 1980s. It is a large-scale display system integrating microelectronics technology, optoelectronic technology, computer technology and information processing technology. It is increasingly a leader in display media due to its bright colors, wide dynamic range, high brightness, long life and stable performance. It is widely used in advertising, securities, information dissemination, news release, etc. It is currently more advanced internationally. The publicity shows the media. This paper proposes a design method of large-scale LED display system based on GPRS and I2C bus structure. The system first allows the customer to process the data and images to be displayed on the host computer, and then send information with the GPRS module, and the remotely distributed GPRS module. The content of the remote control and information is received, and after being processed by the CPU unit, the information is displayed on each terminal through the I2C bus. The large LED display in the system shows that the dot matrix is ​​320×256 pixels, which is divided into 32 display modules. The display screen in each display module is rectangular, containing 160×16 pixels, and 40 8×8 LED points. The blocks are combined.

   First, the overall system plan

The data display system is mainly composed of a PC software management module, a GPRS transmission and reception module, an LED display terminal, etc. The system block diagram is shown in FIG. 1 . The function of the upper PC is to receive the user input information and send it to the transmitting and receiving modules of the GPRS through the RS-232 serial port for data transmission. The upper computer management module is a platform for the user to directly communicate with the system. The user inputs the text and commands to be displayed on the LED dot matrix screen and various images through the PC host computer management software, and can select still, move from bottom to top, and right from the right. The display mode such as shifting to the left and blinking can also change the font and moving speed. The main function of the remote GPRS transmission and reception module is to transmit the information received by the upper computer to the desired display terminal in time. This design is mainly transmitted to each display terminal through the I2C bus. The display terminal is composed of a plurality of LED dot matrix screen modules, each of which has a 16×160 dot matrix and can display 10 16×16 dot matrix Chinese characters. The system uses the I2C bus to communicate between the control unit and each display terminal. The LED dot matrix screen module is controlled by the MSP430F169 microcontroller, and can receive its own address data and control the display.
