Traditional lighting industry quickly cut into LED solutions

The shortening of the industrial chain from upstream source production and downstream luminaire production, and even the concentration of LED packages to luminaires, is a trend, but this trend takes a long time to achieve. The earliest way to enter the LED is to replace the lamp. This is undoubtedly witnessed. But is there any other way to replace the lamp and concentrate the industry chain? At the same time, instead of the heat dissipation caused by the special top structure and the limitation of the driving space, the overall output luminous flux is limited; in this case, the module emerges as the times require, and becomes a product of gradual transition. Or the standardization project of the module can also maintain the industrial chain model of our original light source manufacturers and lighting manufacturers, and it is not known.
A module is a collection of one or more LEDs in terms of the definition of IEC62031. This broad definition means that the module even covers alternative lamps and LED fixtures. However, as far as the common modules in the industry are concerned, they can be roughly divided into the following three categories:
1 Light source module, non-standardized LED array, can only be applied to specific luminaires. The application of luminaires requires solutions, thermal, optical, electrical and structural problems. This kind of need for lighting manufacturers has sufficient background in light source manufacturing. For most traditional lighting manufacturers, the mode adopted is to make light sources and lamps themselves, and to find outsourced manufacturers to do power driving;
However, there is a problem that the input voltages of different LED light sources are not the same, even if the same manufacturer, the LED input voltage of the same power is not the same. The drive is highly variable. Add a lot of design and procurement pressure.
At the same time, the cooperation between the two companies will inevitably bring too many constraints. Whether it is the design or the guarantee of production delivery, the poor control of the production process will bring a lot of trouble. And it leads to an increase in management costs.
The best application of this module is the manufacturer of the light source and the luminaire ability: for example, Op, such as NVC, TCL...
2 The standard type, called the LED light engine, is now being prepared by the zhaga organization with standard optical, thermal, electrical, and structural structures that require the same interface to match the fixture. This is a compromise solution outside of industry consolidation. Just like the T5T8 with CFL. There must be some new standards coming out. But integrating the opinions of multiple industries, and unifying them, then turning them into standards and implementing them; it takes two to three years depending on personal opinions. And, as a follower, it may be technically difficult to reach the standards that everyone, Philips, Osram, Toshiba, Cooper, and Zumtobel, have come together to complete.
