Three new energy star indicators announced

In the past few months, the China Lighting Association and the US Environmental Protection Agency have held a series of talks on the Sino-US cooperation on the Energy Star project. Both parties unanimously adopted the official website of the China Lighting Association to communicate the communication of ENERGY STAR-related information. The specific steps are for the United States to send information about ENERGY STAR to the China Lighting Association, which will be translated into Chinese for publication. It is reported that this information exchange will be carried out four times a year. The information content of the exchange includes the Energy Star indicator, the contact information of the project leader and the news section.

ENERGY STAR is a joint initiative of the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy in 1992 to promote cost savings and environmental protection by promoting the use of energy-efficient products to help individuals and organizations in the United States find cost-effective and effective Energy saving program. To date, the ENERGY STAR label for more than 50 different types of products has been recognized internationally as a symbol of energy efficiency.

In the first exchange of the day before, China Lighting Association announced three ENERGY STAR indicators:

Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL): The current CFL indicator (version 3.0) came into effect on October 30, 2003. The general requirements are as follows: 1. The luminous efficiency of the hoodless lamp (power less than 15W) should reach 45 lumens/watt, and the luminous efficiency of the hoodless lamp (power greater than or equal to 15W) should reach 60 lumens/watt; second, 1000 hours lumen maintenance rate In terms of the 10 bulbs after 1000 hours of operation, the average lumen output value must be higher than 90% of the initial 100-hour lumen output value; in terms of lumen maintenance during the service life, the 10 samples tested reach 40% of the rated life. The average lumen output value shall not be less than 80% of the initial 100-hour lumen value; 3. In terms of life, the service life shall be at least 6000 hours.

Residential Lights (RLF): The current indicator of residential lighting (4.1 version), finalized on September 21, 2007, will take effect on August 1, 2008. Product metrics may now be in compliance with 4.1. ENERGY STAR's general requirements for residential lighting are: First, indoor lighting, energy efficiency standards according to input power, required lamp efficacy (lumen per watt), display index, lumen maintenance rate, and average rated life; Second, outdoor lighting The energy efficiency standard is to use energy-saving light sources or to reduce the running time (measuring by running the detector). In both cases, the outdoor luminaire must have a photocell to automatically provide energy from dusk to dawn; third, GU-24 lampholder integrated lamp (bulb): in version 4.1, GU-24 Ballast lamps must meet energy efficiency, lamp life, color rendering index, lumen maintenance, and average rated lamp life based on ENERGY STAR luminaire requirements. 4. All ENERGY STAR-compliant luminaires and GU- 24 bulbs must also have strict safety, reliability and consumer satisfaction standards.

In addition to the CFL and residential lighting programs, ENERGY STAR has recently added an exciting new lighting category: decorative lighting string lights. In this program, energy-saving string lights are now eligible to apply for Energy Star. The ENERGY STAR decorative string light indicator has been adopted in the United States, and the marketing of this product has begun in the United States in 2008. The indicators of decorative string lights can be summarized as follows: 1. Input power: The input power consumption value of each string of 3 lights in the sample shall not exceed 0.20 watts; 2. The warranty shall be 3 years; 3. The stickers on each string shall be attached. Labels should indicate that they can only be used indoors, or both indoors and outdoors; Fourth, safety requirements: All string lights must comply with UL588 (US) and CSA-22.237-M1989 (Canada) indicators.
