France introduced electronic and electrical waste recycling measures

France recently announced the recycling of electrical and electronic waste, which began on November 15.

The measures stipulate that according to the principle of “who produces, who sells, who uses, who is responsible for recycling and bears the relevant environmental protection costs”, the manufacturer will bear the recycling cost of electronic and electrical waste, and the retailer is responsible for transportation, on the invoice. It is marked that “every new electrical appliance sold must be responsible for the recycling and transportation of a similar electrical appliance that has been eliminated”. French electrical prices are expected to rise by an average of 10 to 15 euros for such garbage collection costs.

The new measures include refrigerators, ovens, kitchen utensils, laundry dishwashers, hair dryers, blenders and other household appliances as "white products". Televisions, tape recorders, stereos, radios, etc. are designated as "brown products", computers, telephones, Office equipment such as fax machines and electronic toys are classified as "grey products", and bulbs, lighting tubes, and the like are classified. The measures stipulate that local governments should formulate policies to facilitate the classification and disposal of electronic and electrical waste by residents, and assist environmental companies in collecting and processing.

At present, the average French person discards 14 kilograms of electronic and electrical waste every year and grows at a rate of 3-5% per year. Most of the e-waste contains heavy metals, mercury, freon and other ingredients that increase the greenhouse effect. France intends to achieve the ability to recycle and reuse 4 kilograms of electronic waste in the national year next year. France has enacted the above-mentioned decree in accordance with the EU's unified treatment of electrical and electronic waste, and has designated four garbage collection and recycling companies to handle electronic and electrical waste.

Rack DC Power Supplies

SMP series Rack-mounted DC Power Supplies are economical, MOSFETs-based, high switching speed, high power density DC power supplies with output power covering 300W ~ 6KW, and maximum voltage up to 800VDC.

Compared with IGBT-based DC switching power supplies, MOSFET-based switching power supplies have a higher switching frequency, making this series Rack DC power supplies can use smaller semiconductor devices and LC filter units while ensuring low ripple, high precision, and fast response characteristics of the Power Supplies DC output. Which gives more space to use a smaller chassis size at the same output power, resulting the high-power density feature of this series Rack Mounted DC power supplies.

The main design purpose of this series of Rack mount DC power supplies is to fulfill the needs of small test systems for miniaturization, high power density, and rack mountable. At present, this series of Rack DC power supplies uses rack-mounted chassis for all models above 1KW, some models below 1KW still adopt desktop chassis to match laboratory applications, they are mainly used in LED testing, small electroplating, heating of new materials, electrical component testing and other applications.
