Small displacement engine favorable policy introduced

The General Office of the State Council recently forwarded the Opinions of the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments on encouraging the development of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly small-displacement vehicles.

The "Opinions" require that the research and development and industrialization of energy-saving and environment-friendly small-displacement vehicles and their advanced engines (gasoline engines with a power of more than 50 kW and diesel engines with a power of more than 40 kW) be strengthened.

Relevant departments should speed up the formulation of relevant policies and measures, guide and encourage consumers to purchase and use low-energy, low-pollution, small-displacement, new-energy, and new-powered vehicles; formulate and improve tax and fee policies that encourage energy-saving and environmentally-friendly small-displacement vehicles. Research and develop automotive fuel economy standards and establish a vehicle energy efficiency labeling system. Appropriate discounts are offered for parking fees for energy-saving and environmentally-friendly small-displacement vehicles. All regions should actively develop specific measures to create a favorable environment for the consumption and use of energy-saving and environment-friendly small-displacement vehicles.
