5G technology will overthrow robots and IIoT traditional development

The upcoming 5G technology will reach potential in next-generation applications such as Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and advanced robotics. Many robots currently use 4G when communicating with other robots, IIoT drive systems, etc., which is sufficient for many applications. However, in order to make full use of the next generation of robot technology and adapt to the increasing dependence on systems such as the cloud and IIoT, the time to adopt 5G technology has matured.

It is reported that 5G technology can only perform its powerful functions when used in conjunction with next-generation robots equipped with electric servo motors, Sensors and other advanced hardware. As robots become more advanced and begin to take over more cumbersome work in the factory, the demand for small, high-efficiency motors will increase. Due to the high emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and advanced processing algorithms, 4G has struggled to keep up with this demand.

Robots can take on a wider range of tasks in addition to performing monotonous tasks, but sometimes they need to learn new tasks or instructions and make decisions without human intervention. Although some basic robot systems currently meet these standards, they are rare.

5G technology will overthrow robots and IIoT traditional development

Although efficient, 4G technology is dwarfed by faster and more reliable 5G platforms. The 5G connection speed is up to 100Gbs, 1,000 times faster than 4G. Given the growing size of data sets, the need for real-time data processing is growing, and relying more on large-scale and long-term data storage, it's easy to see how 5G benefits everyone.

5G not only enables it to design robots that communicate with other robots or human workers in real time, but some of them can learn new tasks through direct observation or computer programs. Many experts believe that 5G will also help reduce the cost of robots in the workplace and at home, and make them cheaper.

Peter Montgomery, co-director of the Global System for Mobile Communications (GSMA), talked about this in a recent interview. He emphasized the high capacity and low latency of 5G networks and the ability to offload processing responsibilities to cloud servers.

Montgomery said the factory will use a large group of robots to assemble products, package goods and make decisions in real time. Instead of using a separate processor, each robot will connect to the cloud AI processor. This is a cost-effective and efficient process, but requires ultra-fast and reliable network connectivity, such as 5G connectivity.

Global smart phones and networks will eventually be powered by 5G technology, but many will be exposed to 5G platforms for the first time through robots. Whether it's adding a new cobot at the factory floor or a robot that provides tranquil care for the elderly, this imaginary world is quickly becoming a reality.
