Mac OSX now has new malware domestic users will be attacked

July 1st, Kaspersky Lab released a message today that found a new malware that was transmitted through the compressed file attachment in MacOSX today. Kaspersky Lab's CostinRaiu said that they use a new MacOSX backdoor software to block this new advanced persistent threat or ATP malicious attack.

IT Business News learned that a new round of malicious APT attacks is not known. Essentially, this attachment lured Mac users to install a MaControl backdoor with virus. According to reports, this virus is an encrypted IP address, which belongs to a domestic server.

It is reported that if the user installs the software, the malware will open the backdoor channel, allowing the attacker to execute commands on the Mac. Raiu said that considering the popularity of MacOSX, the number of users in the country will continue to increase.

Earlier media reports said that after the security company detected 600,000 Mac systems being infected by Flashback's malware, it continued to track malware in infected systems. In recent weeks, data from these monitoring efforts shows that although Apple has tried to recover the negative effects of malicious software, the effect is not obvious.

Apple's OS X Java Runtime Neglected Security Vulnerabilities spread Flashback malware, which has infected about one percent of Mac systems during its peak period. In order to deal with the spread of malicious software, security companies have issued malware removal tools. Then, Apple released a series of Java updates, turning off vulnerability scanning and removing known malware.

During these infections, security companies set up Sinkhole servers and other technologies to monitor Flashback infection and determine that many computers have been infected with malware. After the peak period of malware infection, preliminary reports showed that the infection rate dropped significantly and until the end of April, 140,000 Macs were still affected by malware.

The following is the latest report from Intego:

April 30, 2012 - 102,769 infected Macs

May 1, 2012 - 96,748 infected Macs

May 2, 2012 - 103,779 infected Macs

May 3, 2012 - 121,826 infected Macs

May 4, 2012 - 102,375 infected Macs

May 5, 2012 - 118,593 infected Macs

May 6, 2012 - 113,909 infected Macs

Intego speculates that a small percentage of users have not taken any steps to update the system. Apple only offers OS X 10.6 and above updates and malware removal options. However, the old version of OS X that this malware infects has not been fixed.
