Jiangsu Nantong Power Generation Co., Ltd. is invested by Huaneng Nantong Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Nantong Tianshenggang Power Generation Co., Ltd. at a ratio of 50%:50%. Two 1 million kilowatt domestic ultra-supercritical generating units are built in the first phase of the project. The total project investment is 7.98 billion yuan, the project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in September of this year, and it is planned to be fully put into production in 2013 with an annual power generation capacity of 10 billion kWh. According to the introduction of the two major power companies, the first phase of the project uses domestically-proven ultra-supercritical technology to install high-efficiency electrostatic precipitators, desulfurization and denitrification devices simultaneously. This project is currently the highest single-capacity grade, the highest efficiency, the highest level of environmental protection, and various types of The design parameters have reached the domestic leading level of the unit, with the factory power consumption rate is the lowest in China, the localization rate is the highest in the country and many other features and advantages.

At the same time that the Nantong Power Plant “Shangda Big Press Small” project was started, Nantong City held a centralized start-up ceremony for major projects in the city. From November 15 to November 20, a total of 140 major projects were started in the city with a total investment of 92.17 billion yuan. Among them, 86 are industrial projects, 29 are service projects, and 25 are people's livelihood and happiness projects. The construction and commissioning of these projects will play an important role in promoting the industrial transformation and upgrading of Nantong and the development of public utilities.

After the project was completed, it not only effectively increased the proportion of large-capacity generators in the power plant, but also enabled Nantong’s installed capacity to leap onto the 8 million-kilowatt platform, which provided important support for Nantong to create a modern energy base in the north wing of the Yangtze River Delta.
