2016 Digital TV households to reach 1.19 billion China accounted for 1/4

More than 30 countries around the world will fully enjoy digital television.

According to the report, the number of global digital television households in 2016 will reach 1.19 billion, covering 80% of households. In contrast, the global digital TV penetration rate in 2010 was 42.5%. This forecast is based on the company’s forecast of 73 countries.

By 2016, there will be 33 countries in the world that are fully adopting digital television. In December 2010, only one country in Finland completely popularized digital television.

This report predicts that of the 615 million digital television homes added between 2010 and 2016, 41.8% (256 million homes) of new digital homes will have digital cable television.

By the end of 2016, the number of analog TV homes will drop to 297 million, and the penetration rate will be reduced to 20%. In contrast, the number of analog TV households in 2010 was 781 million, and the penetration rate was 57.5%.

According to regional statistics, Asian countries have the fastest growth rate in the digital TV market. Among the 613 million households that will soon adopt digital television, the Asia-Pacific region will account for 388 million.

According to this report, China has become the world's largest digital TV home user in 2010. By 2016, the number of digital TV households in China will account for a quarter of the world, followed by the United States and India.
