Patent Warfare: US Purui Company sues Taiwanese manufacturer Yiguang

BridgeLux, the leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting, filed a countersuit against Everlight on the US District Court in California on August 1, 2017, requesting compensation for past and current patent losses, and requesting the ban on billion light in the United States. Continue to sell related products. Purui believes that Yiguang's products, including 2835 and COB, infringe on four patents including Puri's US Patent Nos. 6,869,812, 8,567,988, 8,256,929 and 8,092,051.

Puri has invested a large amount of resources in LED technology and product development to form Puri's intellectual property to protect the Puri product patent portfolio. The technology covers light extraction processes, thermal management and packaging technologies for the entire LED industry including chips, surface mounts, arrays and modular systems. Puri’s CEO Tim Lester stated that “Puri is not a counterfeiter. We develop our own technology and have confidence in the strength of our claims and the quality of intellectual property. We believe that the US judicial system can give the right answer.”

In the past decade, Puri has established the concept of providing high quality, high performance and high stability solid state lighting solutions for indoor and outdoor lighting applications. Carefully study global user needs and industry trends in product development, and follow industry standards such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) grading guidelines. Puri has ownership and authority over more than 1,000 patents. Puri is proud to respect the intellectual property system and the intellectual property of others and will continue to defend its rights.

Puri has commissioned a representative of the Arent Fox Intellectual Property Office to handle matters related to this lawsuit.
