Henan's first high-power LED lighting R&D center listed

The first high-power LED (semiconductor) lighting R&D center in Henan Province was unveiled in the Economic and Technological Development Zone yesterday. It will actively promote the development of LED lighting products and help key enterprises realize industrial development. At present, Xinshi Optoelectronics (Zhengzhou) Co., Ltd., where the center is located, has developed a fourth-generation LED product covering street lamps, tunnel lights and indoor commercial lighting, and promoted it in cities such as Zhengzhou and Shenzhen.

According to reports, LED lamps consume only about 1/10 of the energy of incandescent lamps, and the use time is up to 10 years. In the future, LED lighting will gradually replace incandescent and fluorescent lamps, and the market prospect is very broad. As far as our province is concerned, the total market of LED high-power street lamps in the next three years is about 5 billion yuan, and the country is expected to reach 200 billion yuan.

In April this year, the Ministry of Science and Technology launched the “Ten Cities and Ten Thousand Miles” project (LED lighting) pilot city. As one of the pilot projects, the city has launched the “Semiconductor Lighting Key Technology and Demonstration and Promotion Project” in this year's major science and technology projects. It plans to promote the application of 120,000 semiconductor lamps in the city by 2015, saving electricity costs of 63 million yuan per year. The maintenance fee is 55 million yuan.
