Panasonic plans to sell one-third of LED backlights in 2010
A few days ago, Nippon Panasonic President Masahiro Oda said at the 2010 Business Policy Briefing Session that in 2010 (April 2010-March 2011) Panasonic's global thin TV sales target will be 20 million units. Among them, LED backlight models will account for 30% of the overall LCD TV.
It is reported that in 2009, Panasonic's overseas revenue share increased from 50% in 2008 to 60%. This time, the planned sales target is 20 million units, of which 37% will account for 50%. Panasonic plans to increase its global thin TV shipment target to 30 million units by 2012, including 10 million plasma TVs and 20 million LCD TVs. President Daping pointed out that in 2010, in addition to the main 3D plasma TV with a size of 50 inches or more, the model equipped with LED backlights will account for 30% of the total LCD TVs.
