Google CES Confirms Mate9 Support Daydream Will Release AR Mobile Phones
Amit Singh, the commercial director of Google VE/AR team, confirmed in the keynote speech held by Huawei CES that Mate 9 and Mate9 Pro are compatible with Daydream, but this generation of mobile phones will not support Tango, but Huawei's next-generation mobile phone will support AR functionality.

Amit Singh said in his speech, “It is not easy to make AR-compatible mobile phones, and we need to design reasonable optics, display screens, and sensors at a relatively high technological level. Google and Huawei have been working closely together to improve the performance of Kirin chips. This is an industry-leading system-on-chip (Soc) that will bring unlimited possibilities to the mass market and provide immersive computing than VR."
Daydream-enabled mobile phones
Currently, phones compatible with Daydream platform include Google's own Pixel and Pixel XL, as well as Motorola Moto Z, ZDroid, ASUS ZenFone AR and ZTE Axon 7, future Samsung, LG, HTC, millet, Alcatel and other mobile phones will also emerge.
"In addition to VR, we are also working closely with Huawei AR, and we hope to use the Tango module to provide an action tracking system. In the future, Huawei handsets will combine AR, AI learning, and in-depth awareness."
In fact, Huawei has released a VR headset according to the design standards of Daydream View. The ATE 9, which was shown on the Huawei National Banking Edition in November, was released at the same time. However, it was only sold in China, and uses the Samsung Gear VR chip's built-in design.
